NADRA Announces Major Changes to Combat Fraud and Improve Citizen Services

Closure of Pak ID Website and Transition to Mobile App Services

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has revealed significant changes in the services provided by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). As part of efforts to curb identity fraud, the Pak ID website will be shut down. All services will be transitioned to a more secure and user-friendly mobile application. This move comes in response to growing concerns over fraudulent activities by individuals operating fake websites aimed at assisting with identity document creation.

Fighting Identity Fraud: NADRA Takes Strong Action Against Fraudsters

Minister Naqvi highlighted the rising threat of fraudsters who exploit fake websites to assist in creating identity documents, risking the personal information of Pakistani citizens. The government is taking swift action to tackle these fraudulent activities. From January 17, the official Nadra website closed will no longer be operational. “Use the enhanced NADRA mobile app to access services securely.”

Improvement of NADRA Mobile App for a Seamless Experience

The upgraded NADRA mobile app now offers a comprehensive range of services, including ID Card applications, NICOP, POC, B Form, and FRC, among others. “We have significantly improved the mobile app to provide a smoother user experience.” Especially for Pakistanis residing abroad who previously faced difficulties in uploading documents and scanning fingerprints through the website.

Expansion of NADRA Services: New Regional Centers to Be Established

In a bid to further enhance NADRA’s reach and improve service delivery. “The government will set up three new regional centers in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan.” These new centers are expected to be operational by March 31, ensuring better communication between the authorities and citizens. The expansion will also make NADRA services more accessible to people in remote areas.

New NADRA Offices in Tehsils: A Step Toward Accessibility

In addition to the regional centers, the Interior Minister announced the establishment of NADRA offices in 19 tehsils across the country. This initiative, which is already underway, aims to ensure that citizens in these areas can access NADRA services easily and efficiently. “Authorities expect these offices to be fully functional by March 31.”
