Arrest Warrants Issued for PTI Leader Zartaj Gul
Authorities have issued arrest warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zartaj Gul. The warrants were issued by the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad following a case registered against her at a local police station.
Court Issues Arrest Warrants for Zartaj Gul
According to the court’s decision, Zartaj Gul failed to appear despite multiple summons. As a result, the court ordered her arrest, emphasizing that failure to comply would lead to further legal action.
Bail Extension for PTI Leaders in Sangjani Rally Case
In a related development, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) extended the interim bail of Zartaj Gul and Omar Ayub until March 6. The extension was granted in cases linked to the Sangjani rally, where multiple charges were filed against PTI leadership.

Court Proceedings and Hearing Adjournment
The hearing was conducted at Anti-Terrorism Court No. 1 in Islamabad, presided over by Judge Abul Hasanat Mohammad Zulqarnain. However, arguments on pre-arrest bail petitions could not proceed as planned on Monday, leading the court to adjourn the session until March 6.
Zartaj Gul Slams Government Over Judiciary and Media Suppression
Speaking to the media, Zartaj Gul criticized the current government, accusing it of undermining the judiciary and silencing journalists. She claimed that political workers are being unfairly labeled as terrorists, with the judiciary being the last institution under attack. Gul further alleged that after the 26th Constitutional Amendment, the PML-N has compromised the integrity of the judicial system, making even the Supreme Court and its benches controversial.
Zartaj Gul Accuses Government of Targeting Political Opponents
After the court proceedings, Zartaj Gul strongly criticized the current government, accusing it of suppressing political opponents and undermining judicial independence. Speaking to reporters, she stated:
“The present government has not only targeted journalists and the judiciary but is also branding political workers as terrorists. The only institution left untouched was the judiciary, and now, even that is under attack.”
