World Bank Funding: Breaking Down the $20 Billion Commitment
The $20 billion pledge includes funding through two key channels:
- International Development Association (IDA): Nearly 75% of the total funding will come through IDA, supporting Pakistan’s most pressing development needs.
- International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD): The remaining funds will be provided under IBRD.
The CPF’s approval received strong backing, with 19 out of 24 World Bank directors voting in favor.
Major Goals of the Country Partnership Framework

Additional Support from the International Finance Corporation
The International Finance Corporation (IFC) will offer supplementary resources to enhance the CPF’s objectives. This additional funding will strengthen Pakistan’s capacity to address challenges and achieve its development goals.
